Gregor Törzs has been fascinated by nature and adventure since his childhood in Hamburg (Germany). And it is this feeling of melancholy or nostalgia that he tries to convey to people when they look at his work. After living in Los Angeles and working in the commercial world of fashion and advertising, he felt something was missing. He uprooted again and made his way to Berlin; the creative center lured him. Here he developed his own styles and methods of photography and analogue printing in platinum and continues to experiment with new processes today.
The first exhibitions at Persiehl & Heine and Galerie zur Stockeregg (Kaspar Fleischmann) were so successful that collaborations with Michael Hoppen and Bernheimer Fine Art Photography followed. His work is presented at international art fairs such as Paris Photo, AIPAD NY, Photobasel, and various solo exhibitions as well as in museums. We show Gregor Törzs with his analog photographs, which he exposes onto large negatives using self-made cameras and then prints them himself on handmade, long-fiber Japanese paper as platinum palladium prints.
