For decades, Galerie Maulberger has been intensively involved in the art-historical research and communication of the art movements it represents - abstraction after 1945, Art Informel and ZERO. In more than 50 catalogs and scholarly publications, it has focused on the artist groups ZEN 49, Quadriga and ZERO and their surroundings. Maulberger holds the estates of Herbert Zangs, Conrad Westpfahl and Heinrich Wildemann, and manages the K.R.H. Sonderborg archive and the Herbert Zangs estate archive. The gallery, which was founded in 1984, has been an advisory board member of the "Informal Art Research Center" at the University of Bonn since 2019.
