Lars Zech is a wood sculptor from the Black Forest. His material: trees. More precisely: stately tree trunks. The artist saws, carves and sands them into delicate sculptures in his open-air studio, which always contain the specific characteristics of the tree from which they come.
“I go to work with a clear plan – just out of respect for the wood. After all, it often took 200 years for it to grow.”
