Galerie Schlichtenmaier

Art of the modern age
Art has never been as diverse as it was in the 20th century. This is due to the ventures taken by its representatives at the end of the 19th and in the first third of the last century - some rather preserving, others innovative. That the southwest German region plays an important role here can be seen when one calls up the artists from Max Ackermann to Richard Ziegler. Galerie Schlichtenmaier leads confidently through this wealth of positions.
Art after 1945
There was no zero hour after 1945 - but many great moments in art. Abstract and figurative artists took a stand, European neighbors and the USA set standards, and the avant-gardes of the 1960s and 1970s mobilized unimagined creative forces. Galerie Schlichtenmaier concentrates here on the scenes in Germany, but does not close its mind to the international, fascinating currents of art.
Contemporary Art
"As soon as a fashion has become general, it has outlived its usefulness" (Maria Freifrau von Ebner-Eschenbach). That is why Galerie Schlichtenmaier seeks the special in art that will endure into the future. Our contemporary artists are unmistakable, exploring the boundaries of traditional genres, which have by no means become obsolete. In a world that has become more complex, they do not point out simple paths, but convincing ones.
